For our location in Poland, Tomaszów Lubelski, we are searching for a
 
                                                              Sustainability Specialist
 
Sustainability is at the heart of SVZ and transcends every level of our business. In this challenging position you will work closely with the agronomy team, the plant manager and other colleagues who are located in Poland. You will report directly to the sustainability manager in The Netherlands, Breda. Not only will you be responsible for implementing sustainability standards and procedures at farm-level; you will also drive environmental efforts in terms of energy, water and waste footprint reduction at the Polish production site:  
  • You will be visiting farmers to advise, support and prepare for third party verified SAI (Sustainable Agriculture Initiative) audits
  • You will cooperate with external stakeholders such as customers and NGO’s on relevant sustainable sourcing topics (biodiversity, soil health, social conditions of workers etc)
  • You will support the Polish production site in reducing its environmental footprint (energy, water, waste)
  • You will organize and give trainings to external and internal stakeholders
Our requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree for instance on Horticulture or a technical education  
  • Proven experience in auditing or a quality background
  • Experience in the fruits and vegetable cultivation industry is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of pesticides management, fertilization and soil preparation and conventional & bio-pesticides and IPO is a big plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management
  • Fluent in Polish and English language, verbal and written.
  • Driving license and able to travel
You have an internal drive for sustainability in general and sustainable cultivation. You are pro-active and able to work autonomously and also in a team. You are open for changes and improvements and you like to get things done.
