Are you a 4th year Bachelor (HBO) of Master (WO) student chemical technology/chemical engineering or similar, with affinity for the upscaling of production processes? And are you looking for an internship / graduation assignment with effect from September 2021 for the duration of 20-22 weeks? Cosun R&D offers you an interesting assignment!

What are you going to do
Within Cosun R&D, we work on the development of new processes on a pilot and demo scale. The aim is to validate and demonstrate the processes on this scale. This project-based method of upscaling takes place within a development process based on a stage gate decision model. Cosun wants to further professionalize this approach and shape it within a standardized methodology. The internship will focus on gaining an overview of the current scaling-up methods and best practices in the industry and Cosun by means of a thorough literature study. From this overview you will develop a scaling-up method tailored to Cosun in which issues such as standards, definitions, delivery and decision documents will be further elaborated.

Who are you
You are a 4th year Bachelor (HBO) or Master (WO) chemical technology student. You will be available for 20-22 weeks from September 2021. You are proactive, creative, enthusiastic and methodical to embark on this assignment and help us develop our scale-up methodology.

We also ask:
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, spoken and written;
• Thorough knowledge of the Office package (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
• Practical knowledge of literature research techniques

Where are you going to work?
During your internship you will be located at our Cosun innovation center in Dinteloord (located between Breda and Rotterdam). Cosun R&D is the knowledge and expertise center of Cosun, situated in the Cosun innovation center in Dinteloord. Cosun R&D provides services to the Cosun business groups and their customers by sharing its know-how and experience in a wide ranges of (R&D) competences. With this knowledge, our colleagues at Cosun R&D help to coordinate and initiate research and development Cosun wide. Additionally, Cosun R&D works together with the businessgroups to develop new and innovative applications of biomass. Our Cosun innovation center facilitates in experimental set ups for process analyses, research laboratories, a pilot plant and our very own bakery, for testing new concepts.
