Cosun has defined plant based protein as a new business development spearhead and is planning to build a protein dedicated factory in the coming years. Together with Avebe, Friesland Campina and expertise institutes, Cosun participates in the Fascinating Program, focusing on Protein and Energy transition. The industrial partners are familiar with a range of technologies to process proteins. But the field of plant protein related technologies is quickly developing and an important question is which should be considered for the future to build protein factory.
What are you going to do?
In your thesis / graduation assignment, you will combine a broad field study on developments in plant based protein extraction and purification technologies and coming up with suggestions for future work within the Fascinating program.
Who are you
You are a master (WO) student, with affinity with R&D for new chemical processes. You are studying chemical engineering or similar. You are available for an internship, for the duration of at least 12 weeks. Furthermore we ask:
  • A pro-active, independent attitude and drive;
  • Affinity with separation technology
  • Affinity with conceptual process design and techno-economic evaluation is a plus.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and/or Dutch
  • Knowledge of- and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Where are you going to work?
Cosun R&D provides services to the Cosun business groups and their customers by sharing its know-how and experiences in process technology, conceptual design & energy, chemistry &product development, application support, operations support and analytical support. With this knowledge, our colleagues at Cosun R&D help to coordinate and initiate research and development Cosun wide. Additionally, Cosun R&D works together with the business groups to develop new and innovative applications of biomass. Our Cosun innovation center facilitates in experimental set ups for process analyses, research laboratories, a pilot plant and our very own bakery, for testing new concepts. You can count on a challenging assignment and personal attention and guidance.
