As we are deploying our strategy, we are currently looking for a driven Business Development Manager Foodservice who is able to identify opportunities within Foodservice that lead to profitable growth.

Over the years foodservice markets have been a returning topic for new business potential but not yet materialized. Several opportunities come together in the SVZ strengths zone:
  • Out of home consumption remains growing, double digit in emerging markets;
  • More demand and foreseen further embracement for healthy options and ingredients;
  • Fast growing need for convenient solutions due to cost and scarcity of labor;
  • FS following retail conditions for quality, sustainability, traceability;
It is for this reason, SVZ is now seriously looking into next steps for this segment to explore. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a leading role in defining these possibilities for SVZ within the foodservice market. To do so, the BDM will execute a thorough market scan to understand the relevant (go-to) markets as well as the concepts we need to develop to serve these markets. Eventually, the BDM will prepare and present the growth opportunities within the chosen segments. At this moment we focus on International Key accounts and Wholesalers. 

When approved, the BDM will be end-responsible for the road-map and execution meaning that the BDM will be responsible for a successful go-to market strategy. Important part of the profile will be that the right candidate is able to close deals resulting in profitable growth.

This role has a broad scope and is a key leadership role in terms of setting future strategic direction. The market opportunities can be significant and SVZ has some aggressive targets to meet over the next period. Therefore, it is important we find the right individual who has the skillset, motivation, and drive to build SVZ’s success in the segment of Foodservice.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Deep dive into foodservice market to understand what position SVZ can hold towards the future in this segment
  • Developing (new) Foodservice concepts by identifying opportunities and linking SVZ concepts to market needs.
  • Set-up a go-to market strategy.
  • Drive the needed activities to push/pull our concepts to the relevant market-pockets
  • Play a significant role within our innovation platform
  • Organize and use network events to understand / pull relevant information
  • Customer visits, exhibitions and conferences
  • Market intelligence, competition research
  • Project management and monitoring of progress of running projects
  • MS / BSc degree in relevant direction
  • Outstanding knowledge of the foodservice market
  • Proven track record in setting up new business and demonstrated success
